Wedding Room Blocks

Where to start, right? There are so many options out there and knowing what all the terms mean is a bit confusing.

Room blocks are tricky, but when planning a destination wedding they are essential. We spent years trying to figure out how room blocks work and how to get the best rate for our clients.

One day a hotel said to us- Why don’t you have your IATA card?

Huh? What is an IATA card? we asked… This is pretty much how the conversation went.

We quickly found out that if we could jump through the numerous hoops and pay the fees we could become certified travel agents and in turn would be able to negotiate the best possible rates for our clients.

I must say the IATA process and approval was probably one of the hardest things I have ever applied for. It isn’t for the faint of heart and the research that goes into the approval process was shocking.

I am very happy to report that we were approved many years ago and offer the travel agent negotiation free to our clients and to other wedding planners clients and couples who aren’t are clients through our sister company- Best Room Block Rates.

If you are in need of a room block and don’t know where to begin, send us an email through the Best Room Block Rate contact form- we’d be happy to help.
